You are a Significant Part of the Body

Have you ever felt unappreciated? Like all your efforts, the time and resources you spent for a loved one didn’t matter to that person? Or maybe someone made unfavorable comments about your achievements making them insignificant, and it made you feel down? I have felt like that before too my friend.

You know, when I was five years old my parents separated. My mother would leave for work and I spent hours alone. A lot of my childhood was spent growing up from house to house. It was very uncomfortable living in other people’s home where nothing belonged to me except a few clothes. And I often felt I wasn’t apart of the family; The least important one who didn’t get any attention. I even felt like a disturbance to others. But you know what? When I finally let Jesus in my life all of that changed immensely!!

Jesus revealed to me the value of my life by teaching me that it’s not about me.

Let me tell you about the time The Lord used me to help someone get healed for the first time. I was evangelizing at a park in Connecticut. I saw a group of people sitting at a bus stop so I approached them. I started talking to a man: Hello Sir, how are you today? He gave me a big loud WHAT? I got real close and said how are you? a little louder. He said I am ok, just waiting for the bus. I asked, what happened to your ears? Why are you wearing hearing aids? He said oh I can’t hear anything in my right ear and only 20% in my left. I said wow! Without thinking I said well, I got some good news for you! He said what is that? You gonna sell me something? I laughed and said: No no, did you know that Jesus is still healing the sick today? He said real quick oh I believe that! I said you do? That is awesome! How would you like Him to heal you today? He said yeah, that would be great! I asked him, do you believe He can heal you today? He said, oh He can do anything! I said ok, can I pray for your ears? He said sure. As I was stretching both of my hands to his ears I said dear Jesus glorify your Name and when I had placed my hand in his ears I said real loud: EARS BE OPENED!! The man said oh thank you. I said wait! We have to test your ears out! I said take out your hearing aids. He asked take out my hearing aids? I confirmed yes, take them out. So he did and I said to him I am going to say a few things and you are going to repeat what I say ok? He said ok. So I said ONE! And He said ONE. I took a step backwards and said TWO! And the man said TWO! I took a few more steps back and said FIVE! And he repeated FIVE! I got even further and said Hallelujah!! And the man started screaming, Hallelujah! Hallelujah! Hallelujah!! What did you do to me? Let me see your hands? What do you have in your hands? I showed him my hands smiling and told him I didn’t have nothing in my hands. It was Jesus who healed you because you believed He could. He said I am hearing the cars driving by! I wasn’t able to hear the cars, not even with my hearing aids! I hear the birds! I hear everything! Thank you! Thank you! Thank you! He grabbed both of my hands and gave them a couple of kisses. His bus came right after that and he had to go.

That day I felt very useful my friend. I felt my life was worth living for. I didn’t care about my past anymore nor about the negative things people had said about me. I became so sure of my value to God and people.

How would you like to feel the same way? Not just one time but every single day?

I guarantee you that if you learn to let The Lord use you, you will always feel like that and even better! Take a look at these scriptures:

Therefore said he unto them, The harvest truly is great, but the laborers are few… (Luke 10:2) This implies God needs you!

Now you are the body of Christ and individually members of it. (1 Corinthians 12:27) Here you can see you are so important to God, it’s like you are one of His vital organs!

He makes the whole body fit together perfectly. As each part does its own special work, it helps the other parts grow, so that the whole body is healthy and growing and full of love. (Ephesians 4:16) Not only are you essential to God but you are also essential for other people to be healthy!

If the foot says, “I am not a part of the body because I am not a hand,” that does not make it any less a part of the body. (1 Corinthians 12:15) This verse tells you to not think that you are less important than others! You are as important as the President of the United States! And I mean that with all my heart!

Now there are diversities of gifts, but the same Spirit. And there are differences of administrations, but the same Lord. And there are diversities of operations, but it is the same God which worketh all in all. (1 Corinthians 12:4) This paragraph gives some details of how we are all assigned a specific task…
